Tempus

Privacy Policy

Updated 21 October 2026

Tempus is a calendar app made by Born Opus, in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

The short version: Born Opus never receives your data. Your calendar stays on your iPhone and in the accounts it comes from, and what Tempus keeps of its own stays on your devices and in your iCloud.

What Born Opus collects

Nothing, unless you write to us. Tempus has no servers of ours, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it contains no code from other companies that does any of those things.

Your calendar

Sign in with Apple

Signing in is optional. If you sign in, Apple gives Tempus an identifier for your account and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. They're kept in your iPhone's Keychain, and Tempus asks Apple when it opens whether you're still signed in. Born Opus doesn't receive them. You can sign out or delete your account in Settings › Your Account.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud Sync is on, your Inbox ideas, the categories you choose, your settings, and the name and photo you choose for your account are kept in your own private iCloud database, so they're the same on all your devices. Their contents are end-to-end encrypted, so only you can read them. Your events aren't part of this: they sync through their own accounts. You can turn iCloud Sync off, or remove Tempus's data from iCloud, in Settings › iCloud Sync.

Tempus AI

Tempus AI is optional. It uses Claude, made by Anthropic, with an API key from your own Anthropic account. Nothing is sent until you add a key and agree to what's shared. Then, when you ask Tempus AI something, your iPhone sends these straight to Anthropic, never through Born Opus:

Anthropic handles them under its own privacy policy. Your key is kept in your iPhone's Keychain and sent only to Anthropic. You can remove it in Settings › Tempus AI.

Alerts, widgets and Live Activities

Alerts, the morning agenda, widgets and Live Activities are all made on your iPhone from your calendar. Nothing about them leaves it.

When you write to us

If you send feedback, we receive your email address, what you write, and the details Tempus adds to help us answer: the app's version, your iOS version and your iPhone's model. We use them only to reply and to improve Tempus.

Your rights

Born Opus is responsible for the only information it receives: the emails you send us. Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by writing to tempus@bornopus.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

Tempus isn't directed at children under 13.

Your choices

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be here with a new date, and anything important will be in the app's What's New.
