Habits is a habit tracker made by Born Opus, in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version: Born Opus never receives your data. Your habits stay on your iPhone.
What Born Opus collects
Nothing, unless you write to us. Habits has no servers of ours, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it contains no code from other companies that does any of those things.
Your habits
Your habits, categories and every day you've logged are kept in a file on your iPhone that only Habits can read. They aren't sent anywhere. Deleting Habits deletes them.
Sign in with Apple
Signing in is optional. If you sign in, Apple gives Habits an identifier for your account and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. They're kept in your iPhone's Keychain, and Habits asks Apple when it opens whether you're still signed in. Born Opus doesn't receive them. You can sign out or delete your account in Settings › Your Account.
Habits AI
Habits AI is optional. It uses Claude, made by Anthropic, with an API key from your own Anthropic account. When you add a key, your iPhone checks it with Anthropic. Nothing else is sent until you agree to what's shared. Then, when you ask Habits AI something, your iPhone sends these straight to Anthropic, never through Born Opus:
- your messages to Habits AI
- today's date and your time zone
Anthropic handles them under its own privacy policy. Your key is kept in your iPhone's Keychain and sent only to Anthropic. You can remove it in Settings › Habits AI.
When you write to us
If you send feedback, we receive your email address, what you write, and the details Habits adds to help us answer: the app's version, your iOS version and your iPhone's model. We use them only to reply and to improve Habits.
Your rights
Born Opus is responsible for the only information it receives: the emails you send us. Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by writing to habits@bornopus.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
Habits isn't directed at children under 13.
Your choices
- Remove your Anthropic key in Settings › Habits AI.
- Sign out or delete your account in Settings › Your Account.
- Deleting Habits removes everything it keeps on your iPhone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be here with a new date, and anything important will be in the app's What's New.
